Send nested objects via AJAX
I want to build a live dashboard with multiple charts. To avoid reloading the whole page with every change I'd like to send an AJAX request with the new data to the server.
At the moment I'm sending the data in one object, that looks like this:

chartData: [{
chartName: "name",
value: data.something
}]
}
What I'd like to do is to add a nested object to the chartData. So that the nested object looks like this:
value: data.something,
options: {
foo: "bar",
baz: "qux"
}
I hope you get the idea.
How can I easily send this nested object to the server? Currently I'm setting the value in the browser using javascript like this:
var chartData = [{
chartName: "name",
value: data.something
}];
var json = JSON.stringify(chartData);
So what do I need to change in the code above to handle the option object? I'm thinking that in the AJAX request I should set this as a property of chartData, but I'm
